Coat Life

30th October 2015

The clocks going back is the sign that winter is officially on its way. The day’s are getting shorter and the nights are drawing in. I get so excited around this time of year, Christmas is on the horizon and Halloween and Fireworks Night aren’t far away at all. It’s time for hot chocolate, mulled wine and hot toddies, I’m actually grinning with excitement as I’m writing this – I love winter!!!!

It’s also gives you a great excuse to clear out your wardrobe and go shopping to buy some new season pieces. My favourite thing is being able to cover up in thick, slouchy jumpers, boots and wrapping up in big coats, scarves and hats.

I am a total sucker for coats, I love nothing more than an oversized, belted coat to bring an outfit together but, my absolute winter must-have is a coat I can throw on over anything on any day. I recently treated myself to a Canada Goose and I feel like I can take on anything in it. Come rain, sleet or snow there will be nothing stopping me from getting to the end of my road to buy a pint of milk and a loaf of bread! All I need now is for the weather to get a little bit colder so I don’t break into a sweat when I put it on!!!!

And it’s not just for slobbing around in, I paired it with my new Givenchy boots below (another new purchase, my bank balance hates me right now *hands over eyes*) and because it’s fairly slim cut it still looks smart enough to wear for work or to a dinner with friends.

These coats are all over the high street at the moment too, with both Topshop and Zara having some great options.
